I was at the horse races tonite. Perfect night for it, cool, not humid, no wind. Watched the full moon rise above the trees in the background, it was spectacular!

oh and beks, I prefer lube wrestling over mud wrestling, much more slippery and you don't get that gritty feeling in your mouth.

I need help in facing our abuser...
by cognac inthe thought of it scares me so much i can't even think straight... just writing this makes my heart race like you wouldn't believe.. i need to face my dad and mom.
my dad abused us, my mom allowed the abuse.
i need to face him with my two older brothers - the ones who got it the worst and who never faced them about it.... i know my mind will go blank so i'm simply going to write out what i have to say and read it to them.

Lady Lee, I got the same thing from my step mother, I did the best I could, followed with I'm sorry you thought it wasn't good enough and I'm sorry you think I'm such a monster. Tell me, does it take a rocket scientist to figure out that telling your step daughter, who you insisted call you mom, who is the only mother she's ever known, when you are upset with her about something, that she's glad she's not your REAL mother because you are such a horrible child?? Come on now, is that really doing the best you could???
At least come up with a better excuse.

bluecanary is right. My mother flat out denied saying and doing the things she did.
I know what happened, and funnily enough my brother says the same things, so we both can't be wrong, can we? lol
you will feel better for having the courage to stand up for yourself and tell them your feelings and how things affected you, just don't let their denials take that away from you.

Do you pray these days?
by highdose ini was wondering if anyone here prays anymore?
what do you call god?
what role do you think god plays in your life?
-
Bumble Bee
No, I don't, and after a time, as a JW, I rarely did. The times I did pray, nada, zip, zilch response. I never really felt any sort of a connection when I tried, and believe me I tried and tried many many times before I gave up.
Now I occasionally talk to my father, who died several years ago, and there have been times where I know he heard me.

The Vancouver BC Jehovah's Witnesses pay the most
by 1914BS inthis year, about 32,000 jw watchtower slaves went to the convention in kamloops.
the center holds 6400 and there were five assamblies so that is how i arrived at the 32,000 figure.
the dubs spent an average of 500 per head on motels gas and food .

When will little dubbies realize that District Assemblies are nothing more than worldwide book-promotion tours?
About the same time they discover that the Service Meeting and Theocratic School are little more than sales meetings, designed to get them pumped up and excited about their next sales opportunity otherwise known as field service.
Sort of William Miller meets tent revival meets Amway on steroids.
Exactly!! What really drove that home for me was when I went to a Melaluca sales presentation/awards ceremony with my sister in law who was involved in it at the time. It was creepy to say the least, and I had to get out of there before I had a panic attack!

Thats something I would like to do more of... laugh. Just giggle or something
Laughter is good for the soul. When I ever feel down I put on the comedy channel or some old episodes of AFV and just laugh till my sides hurt, it makes me feel soooo much better.
Lay out in the grass or on the beach with a friend and just laugh at the sillyness of all the JW crap we did. Laugh at my crazy neighbour that shouted she was going to call the police because these two old ladies were looking through her recycling for any returnables!! There are things in life everywhere we can find to laugh at, and it will make you feel better!

My JW parents met my wife, but would not see me...
by Confession inso it was time for the 25 year reunion of tawas area high school's class of '84.
because i was class president, i've been responsible for throwing all the reunions we've held.
while i come to michigan on business a few times per year, i don't usually make it all the way up to the little, northeast, lake huron tourist town where they live.

Jeff, thank you for sharing some personal information about yourself. That's not always an easy thing for people to do, even in the somewhat anonymous setting we have here.
Keep up your good work in spreading the "truth about the truth". I'm sure you've planted seeds in many peoples minds, you will proably truly never know how many people you've helped to leave.

Has anyone had Lasik Surgery?
by homeschool ineverybody whose had it says great things except their night vision is a lil off.
i went walking this morning & saw a duck but i thought it was a gopher at first .
do you know of anybody whose had lasik & is happy or unhappy with the results?.

I had it about two years ago and am soooo happy i did it!! No regrets at all. My night vision was bad for a while, and for the first month I didn't drive after dark because of the halos, but I had some problems with glare at night before the surgery anyways. I highly recommend it
